TRAINING OF INTERNAL AUDITOR OF QMS

On Tuesday (7/2) and Thursday (9/2), Biopharmaca Reseach Center (BRC IPB) held a training of Internal Auditor of Quality Management System (QMS) ISO 9001:2008. The training was followed by 20 participants of BRC, i.e. The Director, The Executive Secretary, The Technical Secretaries, The Head of Divisions, The Secretary of Divisions, The Managers of Academic Business Unit, The Public Relation and The Team of Secretariat.

The aims of the training are to 1) to understand and to adopt the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 of the QMS at PSB LPPM-IPB; 2) to be capable of being internal auditor to see and ensure the implementation of the Quality Management System according to ISO 9001:2008, 3) to make work plan of internal auditing in implementation of ISO 9001:2008, and 4) to have more knowledge in auditing of the QMS.

The organization shall conduct internal audits at planned intervals to determine whether the quality management system a) conforms to the planned arrangements to the requirements of this International Standard and to the quality management system requirements established by the organization and b) is effectively implemented and maintained. An audit program shall be planned, taking into consideration the status and importance of the process and areas to be audited, as well as the results of previous audits. The audit criteria, scope, frequency and method shall be defined.

The selection of auditors and conduct of audits shall ensure objectivity and impartially of the audit process. On the first day, before starting the lesson, the participants was given pre-test, then on the last day, after completing the lesson, the participants was given post-test. The test was aimed to determine whether the participant could be an internal auditor or not.

VISITING OF UKI STUDENTS

About sixty students of Medicine Faculty of University of Christian Indonesia (UKI) came to Biopharmaca Research Center (BRC IPB) on Thursday (26/1). They are from Semester 8 of Medicine Faculty. Lead by two lecturers, they firstly came to Biopharmaca Conservation and Cultivation Station (BCCS/UKBB-PSB) at Cikabayan Garden, Campus IPB of Dramaga, learnt about herbal plants. After that, they went to BRC Office at Taman Kencana, and got some explanation about Biofarindo Company and Laboratory of BRC.

In fact, this is the third year for Medicine Faculty of UKI held visiting to PSB LPPM-IPB. Before visiting, they got materials about Cultivation Technology of Herbal Products by Drs. Edy Purwakusumah, MSi and Standardization of Herbal Medicine by Dr. Irmanida Batubara.The event was closed by Director BRC, Prof. Dr. Ir. Latifah K Darusman, MS.

CARE FOR LUPUS SDF AWARDS 2012

In commemoration of World Lupus Day 2012, every May 10, Syamsi Dhuha Foundation (SDF) would like to hold “Care for Lupus SDF Awards 2012”. SDF calls for Indonesian researchers, people and organization to joint this event. It is aimed 1) to motivate the researchers to conduct research, which is original, innovative, and applicative as well as has added value in helping treatment and disease control for improving the quality of Odapus’s Life; 2) to encourage people, particularly the media, to socialize Lupus disease further, through writing, impressions, and other forms of publication; 3) to increase awareness and concern of public about Lupus Disease and Odapus.

Biopharmaca Research Center (BRC IPB) will joint the event as participant. Now, BRC IPB is discussing and making the proposal.
